From June 24 to 28, 2019, the 29th International Lidar Conference (ILRC29), the most influential and high- level event in the field of atmospheric detection lidar, opened in Hefei. This conference was hosted by the Anguang Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China Oceanographic and University, Wuhan University, Xi'an University of Technology, Institute of Optoelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Lanzhou University serve as co-organizers. More than 500 experts and scholars from more than 30 countries around the world will discuss new technologies and new methods for the development of the radar industry. The conference includes keynote reports, invited reports, oral reports, poster presentations, etc., covering new technologies and methods of lidar, atmospheric boundary layer and pollution, atmospheric water vapor and temperature measurement, greenhouse gas and trace gas monitoring, and lidar network and applications, spaceborne lidar and other topics. This is also the first time that an international lidar conference has been held in China, reflecting China's important position and influence in the field of international lidar research.

More than 20 people from the team of Academician Liu Wenqing and Professor Wu Songhua, chief scientists of Qingdao Laser Test Technology Co., Ltd., were invited to participate in this conference. They comprehensively demonstrated the latest innovations of Ocean University of China and Qingdao Laser Test in the form of keynote reports, poster papers, and product exhibitions. The research and application results of atmospheric and oceanic lidar (including 1 keynote report and 7 poster papers) were highly praised by the participating experts.
